JOSEPH KRAFT, MD

JOSEPH KRAFT, MD

PHYSICIAN

Dr. Joe Kraft has been practicing Emergency Medicine for the past 23 years and has practiced here in the Brazos Valley for the past 17 years.

Dr. Kraft was the first resident to be trained in the combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas and became boarded in both specialities before he worked as a hospitalist in both adult and pediatric hospitals.

Dr. Kraft joined a full-time ER practice in South Texas for five years before transitioning back into academia to train some of the first Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows at Connecticut Children’s Hospital. Subsequently, in 2001, Dr. Kraft returned to settle down here Bryan/College Station in full-time emergency medicine.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from The University of Texas in Austin and then he worked as a research bacteriologist at Shriner’s Burn Hospital in Galveston. He then attended medical school at Texas Tech School of medicine in Lubbock and Amarillo.

Dr. Kraft is married to his wonderful wife, Cindy and they have nine children and two grandsons (who are the cutest in the world).

He spends all of his time with his family on their little 6-acre retreat just outside of College Station. He enjoys photography, woodworking, inventing, prototyping, and restoring old stereos, but his favorite is just spending time with family.
